Notes from a small south-facing balcony: what grew, what did not, and what I would do differently next season.
Last tomatoes picked green and left to ripen indoors on a newspaper. The basil gave up after the first cold night; rosemary and thyme do not care at all. Garlic cloves went into the deep box on the 19th, about five centimetres down.
Peppers finally turned red. Lesson for next year: start them in February, not March. Saved seeds from the yellow cherry tomato, it was the best one by far.
Watering twice a day during the heat. Mulch with dry grass helped more than expected.
Updated occasionally.
